Following its debut at the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026<\/strong>, the ABITO<\/strong> exhibition continues its international journey at the National Gallery Singapore<\/strong>, where it was presented from October 3 to 17, 2026. Among the projects featured in the exhibition is Ghost<\/strong><\/a>, FIAM Italia\u2019s curved glass armchair designed by Cini Boeri<\/strong><\/a> and Tomu Katayanagi<\/strong>.<\/p>

Conceived by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/strong> and curated by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba<\/strong><\/a> of Palomba Serafini Associati<\/strong>, ABITO explores Italian culture through the dialogue between fashion and design, two disciplines capable of interpreting and anticipating changes in society. From its first presentation in Milan, the project was conceived as a travelling exhibition designed to promote and share Italian design culture around the world.<\/p>

The title ABITO<\/strong> embodies the curatorial concept of the exhibition through the dual meaning of the Italian word: on the one hand, the garment as something that dresses the body; on the other, abitare \u2014 inhabiting \u2014 as the way people occupy, interpret and transform space. Two dimensions come together in a narrative dedicated to the evolution of behaviour, identity and ways of living.<\/p>

The exhibition unfolds chronologically, bringing together historical garments from the Quinto-Tinarelli Collection and icons of Italian design. Fashion and furniture create a dialogue between past and present: the more transient nature of clothing is contrasted with the ability of design to transcend eras and generations while preserving its expressive strength.<\/p>

Within this context, Ghost represents one of the most recognisable expressions of FIAM<\/strong>\u2019s research into glass. Its presence within ABITO contributes to the story of Italian design through a project in which transparency, essential form and material experimentation define an object capable of transcending its own time.<\/p>
