Biografia
Nato nel 1969, ha studiato interior design al'Institut Saint-Luc prima di aprire il proprio studio a Bruxelles. Nel 2000 Lust ha iniziato a disegnare per MDF Italia, un rapporto tuttora in essere che ha rappresentato l'inizio della collaborazione con produttori internazionali di primo piano quali Driade, De Padova, Baleri Italia e Extremis.
La sua opera è chiaramente identificabile attraverso la tensione visibile che conferisce ai propri oggetti, e grazie alle curve ispirate dal suo innovativo processo di deformazione delle superfici metalliche. Ha ricevuto decine di premi tra cui il Compasso d'Oro. Le sue opere sono state esposte in oltre 50 mostre e sono una costante nelle pubblicazioni internazionali di design. È docente ospite regolarmente invitato presso le principali istituzioni di arte e design in tutto il mondo. "Un meraviglioso aspetto dell'opera di Xavier è l'illusione di leggerezza e di movimento", scrive la critica russa Olga Bozhko. "Nei suoi progetti egli riesce a esprimere ciò che sembra impossibile. Si direbbe che le sue opere non sono create, ma nascano spontaneamente."
